“Students were selected to participate by demonstrating excellence in musical achievement and involvement in various musical activities,” said Dr. Todd Waldecker, MTSU professor of clarinet and organizer of the event.

The day’s events will culminate with a free public concert at 4 p.m. featuring the High School Honors Choir, the MTSU Clarinet Choir and a special clarinet soloist, internationally renowned artist Sabine Grofmeier.

Grofmeier also will perform a solo recital and teach a clarinet master class on Sunday, March 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Room 117 of the Saunders Fine Arts Building, which is located alongside the Wright Music Building.
