MTSU and the campus community can enjoy some cheer and win prizes as the American Association of University Women’s Murfreesboro chapter celebrates the holidays Tuesday, Dec. 15.

The AAUW’s December branch meeting and “buffalo raffle” is scheduled for 5 p.m. Dec. 15 at The Alley on Main, located at 223 W. Main St. in Murfreesboro.

Admission is $10, which includes hot appetizers and a special “Equity Sangria.”

The theme of the holiday buffalo raffle is “Good Food: The Greatest Love You Will Ever Know.” Participants will bring donations to be used as raffle prizes, which may include food, beverages, party goods, holiday gifts and toys.

Raffle tickets are $2 for four tickets. To play, participants put their tickets in cups beside the items they want to win, and tickets will be drawn from the cups to select the winners.

All raffle proceeds will benefit the AAUW Fund, which provides money to help college women advance in their education and their careers.

Organizers also will be collecting donations for the Domestic Violence Shelter and say gift cards are especially appreciated.
