The summer is winding down on this August 2023 episode of “Out of the Blue,” the television magazine program of Middle Tennessee State University.
Host Andrew Oppmann kicks off the 50th anniversary this semester of MTSU’s Honors College by reminiscing about its past with the dean; previewing happenings in the Department of Art and Design within the College of Liberal Arts; and a chat with the new Student Government Association president to capture his thoughts for the next academic year.
Join us this month to hear from:
• Dr. John Vile, dean of the University Honors College, who discusses the colleges 50th anniversary this year and celebration of the first honors college on a public university campus.
• Jimmy Mumford, the chair of the Department of Art and Design, who discusses the work of the department’s students and faculty and various academic degrees that it offers as well as the events and services through the Todd Art Gallery.
• Michai Mosby, a Memphis, Tennessee, native and new president of the Student Government Association, who discusses his new campus role, his student advocacy work over the summer and his goals during his presidency.
