NASHVILLE – Get your tickets now and get up early Tuesday to celebrate the music of country legend Conway Twitty while supporting a new scholarship for Middle Tennessee State University.
“A Celebration of the Music of Conway Twitty” will be held from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at The Listening Room, 209 10th Ave. S., in Nashville.
Proceeds will go to the Conway Twitty Music Scholarship at MTSU. Recipients will be chosen from Recording Industry majors with a 3.0 GPA or above and demonstrating a financial need.
The event will feature a variety of artists singing Conway Twitty hits, including confirmed performances by Herrick, Jesse Keith Whitley, Brinn Black, Olivia West, Eric Lee Beddingfield, Suzi Oravec, Wayne Mills, Trent Jeffcoat, Ashley Martin, David Bradley, Amber Hayes, Jesse Garrett, Tracy Chamberlain, Melanie May and featuring Jeff Bates.
In addition, Kathy Twitty, one of Conway Twitty’s daughters, will speak during the event, telling stories about her dad, whose music career spanned 35 years and included 55 No. 1 singles, including the classic “Hello Darlin’”. Twitty died in June 1993 at age 59.
