MTSU will conduct flu-shot clinics for university employees and students on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 2-3, at two convenient locations on campus, offering the seasonal vaccines free with CVS/Caremark state prescription coverage.
Faculty, staff and students may choose a conventional flu shot or FluMist nasal spray. The spray is available only to patients ages 16-49.
Flu protection also will be available for MTSU employee dependents who are at least 16 years old and also covered under the state of Tennessee’s employee health insurance program.
Faculty, staff, students and dependents should bring their CVS/CareMark cards to one of the clinics at the Recreation Center Atrium or the James Union Building lobby. The prescription card will cover the full cost of the flu vaccine.
Faculty, staff and their dependents without CVS/Caremark coverage can pay $27 for a flu shot or $35 for the FluMist spray. The nonmember student cost is $15 for the flu shot and $27 for FluMist spray.
No appointment is necessary. Clinic hours and locations are:
- Wednesday, Oct. 2, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the JUB lobby; and
- Thursday, Oct. 3, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Rec Center Atrium.
The first of the fall 2013 flu-shot clinics was held Sept. 26.
Cash, checks, credit cards and CVS/Caremark insurance cards will be accepted at the Rec Center clinics. The JUB clinic will accept CVS/Caremark cards and cash and also will allow students to charge the cost to their MTSU accounts.
