MTSU’s Department of Art is continuing its successful Art Scholarship Seasonal Exhibit and Sale with a fundraising event set through Wednesday, Dec. 4.
The exhibit and sale, begun in fall 2008 as an effort to raise funds for various scholarships within the department, is underway in the Todd Art Gallery today and tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
A searchable campus map with parking notes also is available at http://tinyurl.com/MTSUParkingMap13-14.
The works included in the exhibit and sale have been collected from art department faculty members, staff, students, alumni and friends in the community, organizers said.
In addition to the works of art for sale inside the Todd Hall exhibit, the department is featuring a silent auction for a promotional poster signed by art alumnus Wayne White during his spring 2013 visit to MTSU. Book art items and greeting cards also will be available for sale.
Funds from each sale will go to the MTSU Foundation’s Art Enrichment Fund for use in scholarships for MTSU art majors.
The Todd Gallery also is featuring the student exhibits “Blended: the Ceramic Work of Carissa Gay and Laney Humphrey” Dec. 3-12 in Room 210, also known as “Todd Art Gallery2,” and “Little Demons,” an exhibit of Humphreys’ fall 2013 themed work, in the new Lowercase Gallery in Todd Hall.
MTSU’s Todd Art Gallery exhibitions and events are always free and open to the public. The gallery is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and is closed on state and university holidays.
