Meredith Kerr has been named interim development director for the MTSU College of Liberal Arts, the university’s Development and Foundation Office announced.
Kerr, a six-year veteran of the office, previously oversaw annual giving efforts as a graduate assistant. In her new role, Kerr will be responsible for securing private donations for the College of Liberal Arts, which is home to 10 academic departments with disciplines encompassing the arts, the humanities and the social sciences.
“Meredith’s experience in our office uniquely prepares her to take on these responsibilities beginning immediately,” said Nick Perlick, MTSU director of development.
Kerr, 32, fills the position previously held by Beth Duffield, who recently accepted a position with the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. Perlick noted Duffield’s efforts to bolster the MTSU Arts Patron Society, the College of Liberal Arts Campaign Committee and other projects.
“Meredith will be tasked with partnering with Liberal Arts Dean Mark Byrnes to build on the foundation that has been laid,” Perlick said.
Meanwhile, graduate assistant Trisha Thompson will expand her role within the Development Office to address areas previously handled by Kerr. Thompson will serve as interim assistant director of annual giving. Staffer Sam Moline has been promoted from graduate student worker to graduate assistant for phone solicitations.
