An MTSU professor of English spoke about his role in a daring new venture for authors seeking exposure for their work on a recent edition of “MTSU On the Record” with host Gina Logue.
You can listen to the conversation with MTSU instructor Alvin Knox, poetry editor of the “2nd & Church” website, here.
“2nd & Church,” an online literary journal named for the Nashville intersection where its publisher was inspired to create it, strives to examine what it means to live a life of fine arts.
It accepts submissions in poetry, creative nonfiction, technical writing, literary fiction, poetry, translation and commercial fiction. Its most recent issue, released last month, features a chat with Tennessee Poet Laureate Maggi Vaughn by MTSU alumna and author Kory Wells; you can read the magazine at http://secondandchurch.typepad.com.
In addition to his teaching duties, Knox is a mentor in The Writer’s Loft, MTSU’s continuing-education certificate program in creative writing. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Tech in 1996 and his master’s degree in fine arts from Vermont College in 1999.
