MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee State University will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, for the Labor Day Holiday. No classes will be held and all business and department offices will be closed.
Campus offices will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 8 a.m. and classes resume at their regular times that day.
Students taking Saturday classes are expected to attend Saturday, Aug. 31.
Football — the Blue Raiders taking on former rival Tennessee Tech at 6 p.m. Saturday in Floyd Stadium — will bring students, faculty, staff, alumni and fans together for the Party in the Grove, in the Walnut Grove area, with bands, artists, DJs, food trucks and activities starting at 2:30 p.m.
Weekend and holiday closings will include MTSU Phillips Bookstore, Student Health Services and Campus Pharmacy.
During Labor Day weekend, openings will include:
• Student Union Building — open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 31 and closed Sept. 1-2.
• James E. Walker Library — open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 31; open from 1 to 9 p.m. Sept. 1; and closed Sept. 2.
• Campus Recreation Center — facility and indoor pool open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 31; and closed Sept. 1-2.
