MTSU closes Nov. 27-28 for Thanksgiving; classes resume Dec. 1

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee State University will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27-28, for the Thanksgiving holiday. 

Students and faculty will enjoy an additional day off, Wednesday, Nov. 26, and Saturday, Nov. 29, for the holiday.

MTSU will reopen for business at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1. Fall semester classes will resume at their regular times on Monday.

Full weekend closures will include the Student Union Building, James Union Building, Keathley University Center, Campus Pharmacy, Phillips Bookstore and Student Health Services.

Facilities with operating hours during the weekend include:

Middle Tennessee State University’s popular Campus Recreation Center facilities in the Health, Wellness and Recreation Center at 1848 Blue Raider Drive in Murfreesboro, Tenn., will be open for students and staff to utilize from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 24, open from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 25, and closed Monday, May 26, for the Memorial Day holiday. • The James E. Walker Library will be closed Nov. 27-29; and open from 1 p.m.  to midnight, Sunday, Nov. 30.

• The Health, Wellness and Recreation Center will be closed Nov. 27-28 and open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, and open from noon to 9 p.m. on Nov. 30.

• Office of Admissions’ daily campus tours will resume Dec. 1.

For students staying on and off campus during the break, a free, boxed Thanksgiving meal will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. (or until the food runs out) Nov. 27, in the Scarlett Commons Clubhouse, 1858 MTSU Blvd. The meals, prepared by Aramark/MT Dining, are provided by MTSU Housing and Residential Life and the MTSU Parent and Family Association.
