NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee State University is preparing to roll out the blue carpet for future Blue Raider transfer students at its upcoming seven-stop Promise Tour across the state at community colleges.
Ahead of the recruiting events, Kerrington Dougherty, enrollment coordinator, appeared on the “MTSU on 2” segment from the studios of WKRN-TV News 2, the ABC affiliate in Nashville, to talk about what attendees can expect at the Promise Tour.
Watch the full segment in the link below.
“The Promise Tour is designed to meet community college students on their campuses, but this event is for anyone considering transferring to MTSU,” explained Dougherty. “We encourage all students, whether you’re just now considering your options or ready to get started, to come out and discover how MTSU can support your transfer journey.”
Attendees who visit any of the seven stops at Tennessee community colleges can apply to MTSU for free and be eligible for scholarships, including a $500 drawing at each stop.
“Students who attend the Promise Tour will have the opportunity to apply to MTSU for free, receive information from MTSU Admissions, and talk with our different academic departments. Applying during the Promise Tour can also open the door to the MTSU Transfer Promise Scholarship for students who are admitted by March 1 and meet scholarship requirements,” said Dougherty.
All Promise Tour stops are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Register at https://www.mtsu.edu/schedule-a-visit/special-events/.

Students can earn credit for prior learning and work experience, which helps them finish their degree faster,” Dougherty said.
