NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee State University is preparing to welcome hundreds of potential and future Blue Raiders to campus on Saturday, Nov. 1, for its upcoming True Blue Preview Day, where attendees have the chance to experience campus for themselves and learn what it means to be True Blue.

Ahead of the recruiting event, Molly Mihm, coordinator of tours and events, and Alexandria Hamilton, freshmen recruiting counselor, appeared on the “MTSU on 2” segment from the studios of WKRN-TV News 2, the ABC affiliate in Nashville, to talk about what to expect at the recruiting event and important deadlines coming up for guaranteed scholarships.

You can watch the segment, part of the station’s Local on 2 programming, with program co-host and producer Laura Schweizer and co-host Stephanie Langston below.

“True Blue Preview is an incredible opportunity for prospective students to get an in-depth account of the resources available to them at MTSU. The event is similar to an open house,” explained Mihm. “There will be academic departments and programs from around campus tabled for students to speak to. Prospective students are also escorted to meetings with their program of interest to learn more about what MTSU has to offer them academically.”

Attendees also receive an exclusive MTSU shirt at the event and have ample opportunities to ask questions and get a feel for campus.

“True Blue Preview gives prospective students and families a personalized look at the MTSU community,” Mihm continued. “It’s also a great chance to ask questions, get a feel for the campus environment, and start picturing themselves as a MTSU student.”

Future students can also meet with university officials, attend workshops, take a campus tour and more.

Hamilton said MTSU’s Preview Day allows students to customize their visit by choosing sessions that best fit their interests.

“In addition to department tours and opportunities to meet faculty, students can attend an admissions presentation to learn more about the application process and university requirements,” she said. “They can also participate in an application workshop, where they will receive hands-on assistance and have the opportunity to apply for free, instead of paying the usual $25 fee.”

As potential students finish their college applications, future Blue Raiders need to remember upcoming guaranteed scholarship deadlines for the 2026-2027 academic year.

For new first-year students who meet academic requirements, the guaranteed scholarship deadline is Dec. 1. For transfer students, the deadline is March 1.
