Whether you’re coming to MTSU to enjoy an evening of theater, learn from a weeklong conference or tour the campus as a prospective student, the university’s new Visitor’s Guide will help you find your way.

The free full-color guides, which will be available around Murfreesboro as well as across MTSU, feature detailed campus maps, general information about the university’s programs and departments, popular area visitor attractions, contact information and details about the community.

The new, glossy, magazine-style 2013-14 edition was created as a helpful resource for the campus and is designed as both a recruiting tool and an important resource for MTSU. It’s written by the university’s Undergraduate Admissions Office and prepared by the Office of Creative and Visual Services.

It offers insights on student life at the university and in Murfreesboro for visitors, including prospective and newly enrolled students and their families, current students, campus event/conference attendees, alumni and new university faculty and staff.

“The community is vital to the success of MTSU and we wanted to use this new publication as an opportunity to promote both Murfreesboro and the university,” said Dr. Debra Sells, vice president for student affairs and vice provost for enrollment and academic services.

“The magazine also includes an improved and visually appealing self-guided walking tour, making it easier for visitors to explore campus without a formal tour/tour guide. We hope folks will like it!”

Distribution is underway today for the MTSU Visitor’s Guide, which will be available free to students, parents, faculty/staff and university guests campuswide, including at these locations and events:

• MTSU’s Admissions Office, located in Room 209 of the Cope Administration Building and at special on- and off-campus recruitment fairs, high school visits and presidential receptions.
• The MTSU Alumni Relations Office, located at 2259 Middle Tennessee Blvd.
• MTSU’s Athletics Office, located in Room 150 of Murphy Center, as well as athletic events, facilities and recruitment opportunities.MTSU’s Phillips Bookstore, located on the first floor of the new Student Union, and independently owned off-campus textbook sellers.
• The MTSU Career Development Center in Room 328 of the Keathley University Center.
• The MTSU Financial Aid and Scholarship Office, located in Cope 218.
• MTSU’s Housing and Residential Life Office, located in KUC 303, and all student housing rooms.
• MTSU’s Human Resources Office, located on the second floor of the Sam Ingram Building, 2269 Middle Tennessee Blvd., and at new employee orientation sessions.
• Campus Information Desks inside the Cope Administration Building, Keathley University Center and the new Student Union.
• MTSU’s Intercultural and Diversity Affairs Office in Room 330 of the new Student Union.
• The New Student and Family Programs Office, including the Parent and Family Association, in KUC 326, along with all New Student Orientation and Week of Welcome Events and MTSU’s annual Family Weekend.

Copies of the new MTSU Visitor’s Guide also will be available off-campus at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, located at 3050 Medical Center Parkway, and at many Murfreesboro businesses, including hotels and motels, Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital and off-campus student housing complexes.
