Women who understand the challenges of leadership in the face of sexism and other obstacles will share their trials and triumphs in a free National Women’s History Month event at MTSU.

The panelists will be MTSU alumna Lynda R. Williams, deputy assistant director of the Office of Human Resources for the U.S. Secret Service, and Allison Greene-Sands, deputy chief of staff and senior adviser for strategic initiatives for the U.S. Department of Defense’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office.

A 28-year veteran of the Secret Service, Williams is responsible for the security of all agency personnel, information and physical premises.

She is in charge of the development, implementation and management of the agency’s security vision, strategy and programs.

Greene-Sands was the head author of a December 2014 report to President Obama on recent progress made by the U.S. military on sexual assault.

Before taking her current post, she served six years as the associate director for culture for the Defense Language and National Security Education Office, where she was responsible for the research and study plan for the role of culture in Department of Defense policy.

The “Boss Lady” panel discussion is free and open to the public.
