University administrators are asking all students, faculty, staff and alumni to participate in an upcoming online survey that is critical in guiding MTSU’s efforts to reaffirm its accreditation.
MTSU must develop a Quality Enhancement Plan, or QEP, that will be instrumental in implementing a new program on campus that supports student learning. University leaders are seeking feedback to determine the topic of the new program.
The four-question online survey, which will be open until Thursday, April 10, and only takes a few minutes to complete, is being emailed to the entire campus community to get feedback on preferred topics of focus for developing the new program.
“The selected topic of the QEP will be one that supports student learning and is cohesive with our Academic Master Plan and the Quest for Student Success while accomplishing the mission and maintaining the values of our university,” said MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee.
The QEP is required as part of the 2016 Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, or SACSCOC, review process for reaffirming accreditation.
The president has appointed Dr. Dianna Rust, associate professor in the University College, to lead the QEP efforts, and a topic selection committee consisting of representatives from throughout campus has been formed.
More information about QEP guidelines and topic selection is available at www.mtsu.edu/QEP.
“The topic selection committee has been reviewing institutional data, interviewing students and gathering input from the MTSU community during the semester to determine where gaps may exist and what type of initiative would most benefit student learning at MTSU,” Rust said.
“This process gives faculty, administrators and students alike an opportunity to voice your opinions and make suggestions throughout the selection of a topic and development of the QEP.”
Ideas and comments may be submitted to the selection committee by filling out the information request form on the webpage or by contacting a committee member directly. The webpage, www.mtsu.edu/QEP, contains a list of committee members and contact information.
For more information, contact Rust at 615-898-5325, assistant Alexis Denton at 615-904-8281 or email QEP@mtsu.edu.
