The spring semester is already on a roll with a full slate of events for February, some of which are spotlighted in the latest episode of “Out of the Blue,” the television magazine program for Middle Tennessee State University.
In this February 2024 episode, host Andrew Oppmann talks with the new Blue Raider head football coach; viewers will also hear about all the engaging events for students as MTSU celebrates Black History Month; and viewers will learn how to help provide for the student community on campus with the annual three-day True Blue Give campaign.

• New Blue Raider Football head coach Derek Mason, who took over the program in December and shares his thoughts on his new position, what blue-collar means to him, and what he expects entering into next season.
• Danielle Rochelle, director of Intercultural and Diversity Affairs, and graduate student William Rosser, who highlight some of the featured events for the university’s Black History Month celebration. Rosser works with IDA to help produce the iconic “Color the Runway” fashion show event and shares his passion and reasons why Black History Month events are important for students.
• Kristen Keene, director of annual giving/special projects in the Development and Foundation Office, who returns to the show to share how they can support students through the seventh annual True Blue Give campaign, set for Feb. 13-15.
You can watch “Out of the Blue” anytime online on MTSU’s YouTube channel and on MTSU’s True Blue TV, airing on Murfreesboro cable Channel 9 daily at 6 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Central and on Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV, as well as on NewsChannel5+ at 3:30 p.m. Sundays.
