The November 2018 edition of the “Out of the Blue” television magazine show from Middle Tennessee State University, available to watch above, features conversations about helping to connect veterans with local jobs, politics behind the scenes with an MTSU alumnus, and the psychology of “self-talk” with:
• Shane Smith, assistant director of MTSU’s Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center, who works to align veterans with local job opportunities.
• Jim Free, an MTSU alumnus and Distinguished Visiting Professor in the College of Liberal Arts whose career has taken him from the Tennessee General Assembly to the White House and beyond.
• Dr. Tom Brinthaupt, a professor of psychology at MTSU whose research into the practice of talking to yourself — also known as “self-talk” — is helping experts understand what it says about those who make it a habit.
