October ‘Out of the Blue’ features Executive Education, Urban Entertainment Society, School Psychology program [WATCH]

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — In the October episode of “Out of the Blue,” the television magazine program from Middle Tennessee State University, viewers will learn about new executive education courses, a student group’s post-pandemic revival, and an increasingly popular psychology graduate degree program.

Guests who sat down with program host Andrew Oppmann, vice president for marketing and communications, include: 

• Carly Escue, director of the Center for Executive Education, discusses her new role leading the newly revamped center within the Jones College of Business and the slate of upcoming courses to help working professionals boost their skills across a wide variety of disciplines.

• Music business major Keston Jones and audio production major Azzie Dennison, president and vice president respectively with the Urban Entertainment Society, discuss the revival of this unique student group after a hiatus during the pandemic and its renewed focus on showcasing student talent across a variety of entertainment arts, including music, spoken word, dance and more. 

• Dr. Aimee Holt, associate professor of psychology, and Dr. Madeline Berkowitz, assistant professor of psychology, discuss one of the Department of Psychology’s best-kept secrets: the School Psychology graduate program in the College of Behavioral and Health Sciences. Viewers will learn why this program is generating more job offers than there are graduates, making it a fantastic opportunity for students interested in this field.

“Out of the Blue” is available anytime on the university’s YouTube channel, the True Blue TV channel, Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV. It also airs on Murfreesboro cable Channel 9 daily at 6 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.; NewsChannel5+ at 6:30 p.m. Sundays; and streamed on the MTSU Jazz Network through WMOT.org at 7 a.m. on the first Sunday of each month; and on other cable outlets in Middle Tennessee, so check local listings.
