MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — In the September edition of “Out of the Blue,” the television program for Middle Tennessee State University, viewers will take a tour of the brand-new Applied Engineering Building, the latest addition to campus that’s designed to elevate hands-on learning and innovation.
This month’s guests were interviewed by program host Andrew Oppmann, vice president of the Division of Marketing and Communications, from studios located in the Center for Educational Media inside the McWherter Learning Resources Center on campus.

September’s guests include:
• Abbie Lee, recent Mechatronics Engineering graduate and member of MTSU’s women’s golf team, details her experiences at MTSU.
As both student and athlete, Lee has helped officially open both the new Applied Engineering Building and the Stephen and Denise Smith Student-Athlete Performance Center. She discusses her journey within academics and athletics.

• Karli Sutton, reporter for True Blue TV, introduces the new Applied Engineering Building through a special video package.
The package takes viewers inside the facility to explore its cutting-edge labs, collaborative spaces, and the hands-on opportunities it offers MTSU students.

• Dr. Saeed Foroudastan, associate dean of the College of Basic and Applied Sciences and M.S. in Professional Science director, welcomes viewers to the new Experimental Vehicles Lab in the Applied Engineering Building.
Foroudastan highlights the Experimental Vehicles Program alongside Baja Team captain Andrew Starkey, showcasing the program’s two competition vehicles, the NASA rover and Baja vehicle.
