As they transition into their fall garden and prepare for a special event, the agriculture personnel behind the MTSU Student Farmers Market will take a five-week break, said Nate Phillips, assistant professor and horticulture specialist.
In addition to this Friday, Aug. 2, no Student Farmers Markets will be held Aug. 9, Aug. 16, Aug. 23 and Aug. 30.
Phillips said he anticipates the weekly Friday sales will resume Sept. 6.
He said another reason for taking a break from the weekly farmers market is because of the preparation that will go into the School of Agribusiness and Agriscience annual Ag Field Day, which will be held in mid-September and is open to the public.
