The drive will be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Student Health, Wellness and Recreation Center ping-pong room.
Lisa Schrader, director of health promotion, said there is an urgent need for Type O donations as well as A- and B-negative blood types. American Red Cross officials say blood supplies are down 50 percent from summer 2011, and they need to keep plenty of blood products on hand for summer emergencies.
All presenting MTSU donors will receive a rock-and-roll T-shirt, shown at right, and are eligible to win a Gibson guitar just for coming to donate. Donors can go online to www.redcrossblood.org and enter the sponsor code “MTSU19” to schedule an appointment and minimize wait times.
