Career Center holds Summer Internship, Jobs Fair in JUB

With basketball mania prevalent this month, MTSU Career Development Center Director Bill Fletcher calls it March Internship Madness: two fairs in one day at the same time and location.

The annual MTSU Internship and Summer Jobs Fair will be held Tuesday, March 20, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the James Union Building’s Tennessee Room.

Nearly 50 employers have registered for booth space, offering internships, degreed/entry level, full- and part-time employment and co-op opportunities for the anticipated 500 students who are expected, Fletcher said.

Employers will include banking and financial institutions, summer camps, print and broadcast journalism-related businesses, health care, restaurant, sales and marketing, parks and recreation and more.

A sampling includes Advance Financial Inc., Aflac of Middle Tennessee, Athlon Sports Communications Inc., Calsonic Kansei North America, the Federal Aviation Administration, Nashville Electric Service, National Park Service, the Southwestern Co. and WSMV-TV Channel 4.

Business, engineering, fashion, graphic design, art, electronic media communication, organizational communication and education are a few majors that the jobs fair attendees are recruiting. Many are recruiting all majors.

Southwestern Advantage is a primary sponsor of the 2012 Summer Internships and Jobs Fair.
