A special event at MTSU’s Tennessee Livestock Center will affect some student parking and Raider Xpress shuttle routes for the first two days of spring 2016 semester classes.
The parking lot at the Tennessee Livestock Center on Greenland Drive will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 19, and Wednesday, Jan. 20, to accommodate the Tennessee Junior Market Hog Show for 4-H and Future Farmers of America members across the state.
The two-day closure also will prevent the Raider Xpress “Blue Route” shuttles from picking up passengers at the TLC Lot, MTSU Parking Services officials said.
Students are being encouraged to use alternative parking sites Jan. 19 and 20, including:
- the large MTSU and Rutherford Lots, located on either side of South Rutherford Boulevard; and
- the Greenhouse Lot, which is about two blocks southeast of the TLC at the corner of Blue Raider Drive and Lightning Way.
Raider Xpress shuttle buses on the Blue Route will accommodate students using the Greenhouse Lot, while those using the MTSU and Rutherford Lots should use Red Route shuttles to reach the campus interior.
You can find a searchable MTSU parking map PDF at http://tinyurl.com/MTSUParking2015-16. The Raider Xpress shuttle route map is available at http://tinyurl.com/RaiderXpressRoutes2015-16.
The MTSU Mobile App also includes a bus tracking system to show Raider Xpress shuttle locations in real time. The app, which can be downloaded at www.mtsu.edu/mobile, also provides maps to classrooms, offices, MT Dining locations and other campus points of interest.
