MTSU’s Todd Art Gallery is welcoming fall 2011 with two major exhibitions: the biennial Faculty Art Exhibition, currently under way, and the inaugural Nashville Art Galleries Showcase, which begins on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
The Department of Art’s 2011 biennial Faculty Art Exhibition, “Convergent Visions,” features faculty works of art as a way to introduce their work to art majors, the broader campus population and the community. Work by these active artist-educators will be on display through Thursday, Sept. 15.
This fall’s participants include Professors Erin Anfinson, Michael Baggarly, John Donovan, Kim Dummons, Bob Durham, Janet Higgins, Jarrod Houghton, Sisavanh Houghton, Noël Lorson, Jean Nagy, Melissa Newman, Christie Nuell, Marisa Recchia, Thomas Sturgill, Patricia Tenpenny and Meghan O’Connor.
Following the Faculty Exhibition, the inaugural Nashville Art Galleries Showcase will feature work on loan from Cumberland Gallery, Estel Gallery, Twist Gallery and Zeitgeist Gallery. This first partnership between the MTSU Department of Art and some of Nashville’s finest showplaces for art will run through Thursday, Oct. 6. An artists’ reception is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.
