Saving lives and bragging rights were the topics on a recent edition of the “MTSU On the Record” radio program.
Host Gina Logue’s interview with Associate Athletic Director Diane Turnham first aired Sept. 1 on WMOT-FM (89.5 and www.wmot.org ). You can listen to their conversation here.
Turnham is one of the coordinators of the blood drive competition between MTSU and Western Kentucky. The public is encouraged to “Bleed Blue, Beat WKU.”
Donors may make appointments to give blood at MTSU’s Student Health, Wellness and Recreation Center on Blue Raider Drive between noon and 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9; or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The winner of the contest will be announced at halftime of the WKU-MTSU football game, which is slated to start at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at MTSU’s Floyd Stadium.
“With the construction that’s now near our Red Cross here in town, people are having a hard time getting there,” said Turnham.
“The Red Cross shared with us that they’re 80,000 units behind what they normally do in a summer.”
