Scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8, the event will showcase poets and spoken word artists from the MTSU campus and will benefit Soles4Souls, a Nashville-based nonprofit organization that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief to children and others in need through the distribution of used shoes and clothing around the world.

“Come out, show off your style, and support a great cause,” said Keston Jones, president of Urban Entertainment Society, or UES, which has a mission to create an inclusive entertainment community with a focus on the urban lifestyle.

Donation bins provided by Soles4Souls will be available through Friday, Nov. 8, inside the Bragg Media and Entertainment Building, College of Education Building, Deere and Nicks halls, Science Building, and Business and Aerospace Building. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to donate gently used shoes to support the Sole4Souls mission. The college collecting the most shoe donations will be recognized at the Nov. 8 event.

Admission to Sneaker Ball with Poets is a $5 donation, or attendees who bring a pair of shoes for donation will get in free. All net proceeds will benefit Soles4Souls.
