Middle Tennessee trombonists will gather at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center Sunday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. to celebrate the men and women who serve America with a special Veterans Day musical performance.
Coordinated by the MTSU School of Music, the free public concert will feature more than 30 area trombonists presenting an hourlong show of patriotic, military and other familiar tunes in the auditorium of the center’s Building 7.
The York Medical Center is located at 3400 Lebanon Pike in Murfreesboro, and Building 7 is on the south side of the campus near the intersection of Southside Drive and John F. Coady Drive. Parking is available next to the building.
Dr. David Loucky, MTSU professor of trombone and euphonium, and the MTSU Trombone Studio, a 16-member group ranging from freshmen to graduate students, will join VA transplant service chief Dr. Joseph Awad and “Bone Therapy,” a trombone ensemble of Nashville-area musicians from diverse fields, for the event.
