MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee State University representatives appeared on WGNS Radio recently to share information about the new Recording Industry chair, an upcoming summer STEM camp and latest news from an on-campus center.
They appeared on the live “Action Line” program with host Scott Walker broadcast on FM 100.5, 101.9 and AM 1450 from the WGNS studio in downtown Murfreesboro. If you missed it, you can listen to a podcast of the April 15 program.

• Michelle Conceison, new chair of the MTSU Recording Industry Department, discussed her new role and plans as well as the department celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Conceison, who assumed the new role in January, brings a strong mix of real-world experience and heart of a teacher to an internationally respected program. She is a business owner and artist manager who’s had artists sell out world tours while also teaching the future of the music industry how to promote such concerts well. • Heather Green, master instructor and MTeach Program coordinator at MTSU, discussed the 2024 College of Basic and Applied Sciences’ STEM Summer Camp set for July 15-19 and upcoming May 15 registration deadline.
Basic and Applied Sciences is offering a one-week summer STEM camp in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics for high school students entering the 10th through 12th grade for the 2024-25 academic school year. You can also listen to the segment here.
• Dr. Charlotte Scott-Moore, director of the Ann Campbell Early Learning Center at MTSU, discussed the annual “Saddle-Up” FUN-draiser, help April 20 at the MTSU Tennessee Livestock Center as well as the center’s services.
Proceeds will continue to fund the center’s over four decades of work providing an inclusive environment for children 12 months to kindergarten age to learn and explore together through developmentally appropriate play activities. You can also listen to the segment here.
