Coordinated by the JAC, the official kickoff for the observance will be held Tuesday, March 12, with a National Women’s History Month Opening Ceremony including presentation of this year’s Trailblazer Awards beginning at 2 p.m. March 12 at Tucker Theatre.

The full calendar of events and pdf copy of the calendar are available on the June Anderson Center’s website at https://mtsu.edu/jac/nwhm.php

• Dr. Deborah Lee, NHC Chair of Excellence in Nursing and director of the Positive Aging Consortium, and Kevin Fehr, owner of Amada Senior Care and a community member of the MTSU Positive Aging Consortium and the conference planning team, discussed the second Positive Aging Conference in early April at MTSU.

The MTSU Positive Aging Consortium was established in April 2019 and brings together faculty from numerous programs, departments, and colleges who have expertise and research interests in the area of aging and older adults. Community partners were added to the Consortium membership in 2020. The Consortium provides opportunities for partnership and collaborative research, education and service in support of positive aging. The purpose of the Positive Aging Consortium is to bring together participants from MTSU, community partners, and individuals who provide services to aging and older adults to focus on framing aging from a place of positivity rather than decline.

Registration is now open for the second conference, scheduled for April 5 at the MTSU Miller Education Center in Murfreesboro. Registration fee is $35. Calling this year’s conference at “transformative event,” organizers are reminding the public that registration is exclusively available online, and spots are limited. Registration will conclude March 22.

Registration and conference speaker details are available by going to https://w1.mtsu.edu/pac/conference.php and clicking on the registration link or the conference agenda link.
