MTSU on WGNS: True Blue TV programs and apps, undergrad summer research experiences

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee State University representatives appeared on WGNS Radio recently to share information about True Blue TV’s broad array of programming and new apps and a summer research program for undergraduates on campus.

They appeared on the live “Action Line” program with host Scott Walker broadcast on FM 100.5, 101.9 and AM 1450 from the WGNS studio in downtown Murfreesboro. If you missed it, you can listen to a podcast of the June 17 program.

• Ty Whitaker, senior manager of True Blue TV at MTSU, who discussed the university channel’s varied program offerings and ways to watch, which includes streaming services, Comcast Xfinity, AT&T U-verse, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and more. 

Launched in 1999 as an educational resource channel, True Blue TV is now the premier hub for video content and live event programming from MTSU. True Blue TV broadcasts from MTSU’s Center for Educational Media, a part of the College of Education. It is operated by MTSU’s Division of Marketing and Communications under license from the Murfreesboro Cable Television Commission.

Walker is leading an REU at MTSU, hosting the two students, who will be researching the experimental evolution of skin microbiomes — a host’s natural and beneficial microorganisms — in response to a fungal pathogen.
