MTSU faculty and staff shared information on a variety of upcoming campus happenings, including a new holiday concert, during the Nov. 16 “Action Line” program with veteran host Bart Walker.
The live program was broadcast on FM 100.5, 101.9 and AM 1450 from the WGNS studio in downtown Murfreesboro. If you missed it, you can listen to a podcast of the show here.
Guests included:
• Dr. Hilary Miller, director of MTSU’s Veterans and Military Family Center, who discussed the recent grand opening of the center.
With plenty of fanfare, MTSU opened the center with a Nov. 5 ribbon-cutting on the first floor of Keathley University Center followed by a program in front of an overflow crowd in the KUC Theater.
The 2,600-square-foot, $329,000 center will be a one-stop-shop for MTSU’s approximately 1,000 student veterans and family members. The center is now the largest and most comprehensive veterans center among Tennessee universities.

MTSU Arts will feature the concert, a showcase of music, art, theater and dance, on Dec. 3, and organizers in the College of Liberal Arts hope it will become a holiday tradition. WGNS Radio personality Bart Walker, an MTSU alumnus, will serve as the concert’s master of ceremonies.
The concert is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at MTSU’s Tucker Theatre. Tickets will be $10 for general admission, $5 for seniors (55 and older) and K-12 students and free to MTSU students with valid ID cards.
