MTSU will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 2, for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, university officials announced.
The university will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, and resume normal business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Students taking Winter Session online classes from Dec. 20 to Jan. 13 are expected to follow assignment deadlines and class participation guidelines, even when university offices are closed.
All other students will remain on winter break. Spring semester classes will begin Tuesday, Jan. 18.
During this time, most services will be very limited because of office closures. Available services include:
• MT One Stop Call Center— available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 27-30 by calling 615-898-2111 for limited financial aid and business office questions as the MT One Stop in the Student Services and Admissions Center will be closed.
• James E. Walker Library— closed Dec. 23-Jan. 2, but electronic books, articles and streaming videos available 24/7 at https://library.mtsu.edu; and Ask Us! email available at https://libanswers.mtsu.edu/.
In addition to the library and MT One Stop, holiday closures will include the Student Union Building, Phillips Bookstore, Student Health Services and Campus Pharmacy.
The Campus Recreation Center fitness center facilities and indoor pool are closed from Dec. 18 through Jan. 2, and reopen Jan. 3. Rec Center offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Dec. 22.
During the holiday break, the MTSU Blue Raiders basketball team will have home games in Murphy Center against Conference USA opponents University of Texas-San Antonio (4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30) and University of Texas-El Paso (1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1).
The Lady Raiders basketball team will play road games at Conference USA opponents UTSA (7 p.m. Dec. 30) and UTEP (2 p.m. Jan. 1).
