Blue Raider football fever will be rising when fans gather for this year’s MTSU Rutherford County Alumni Pigskin Pre-Game scholarship fundraiser.

The celebration will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25, to help kick off the 2012 season and help students pay for college.

It will be held at 2743 Twin Oak Drive in Murfreesboro. (A map is available here.) The location is at Twin Oak Ranch, which is just off Lascassas Pike.

“All proceeds of this event benefit the Alumni Legacy Scholarship, which is a scholarship awarded to children or grandchildren of MTSU alumni,” said Paul Wydra, assistant director of alumni relations. “We also tie it into a kickoff for another great Blue Raider football season.”

“It’s great food, live entertainment and a great group of people. We look forward to hosting this event every year.”

Tickets for the event, which will be held from 6:30 until 10 p.m., will be $35 per person. The RSVP and pre-payment deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 22. The ticket price includes food, beverages and entertainment.

Parking will be available on-site, and the event will be held rain or shine.

The Blue Raiders’ first game and home season opener in Floyd Stadium will be Thursday, Aug. 30, against McNeese State. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. CDT.
