MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The June episode of “Out of the Blue,” Middle Tennessee State University’s television program, takes viewers inside a new graduate degree program, a growing music archive, and educational initiatives reaching teachers across Tennessee and beyond.

This month’s episode explores MTSU’s new Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television program, visits the Center for Popular Music following a major archive acquisition and highlights how the Center for Educational Media continues to support K-12 educators through professional development and online learning opportunities.
This month’s guests were interviewed by program host Andrew Oppmann, vice president of the Division of Marketing and Communications.

June’s guests include:
• Allie Sultan, director of MTSU’s new MFA in Film and Television program, discusses the university’s newest graduate degree. The program is the first of its kind at a Tennessee public university and is designed to help students prepare for careers in film and television production.

• Karli Sutton, reporter for True Blue TV, takes viewers inside the Center for Popular Music, home to one of the largest collections of popular music materials in the world. The story also highlights the center’s recent acquisition of the Maximum Rocknroll archive, which preserves decades of punk music history.

• Laura Clark, director of the Center for Educational Media, shares updates on the center’s work with K-12 educators. She discusses summer training programs, resources focused on artificial intelligence in the classroom and the launch of CEM Online, a new platform that expands access to professional development opportunities.
