5 reasons MTSU could be the right school for you

By Ella Cobb

Middle Tennessee State University is in the heart of Tennessee in the city of Murfreesboro. MTSU offers a balance of academics, student involvement opportunities and affordability. Here are five reasons why MTSU could be the right school for you!

#1 Proximity to Nashville

Middle Tennessee State University is located around 35 miles from Music City, which is also a growing business community. MTSU is currently the top producer of Nashville graduates.

With access to Nashville, students are able to build strong industry connections, listen to live music, attend sporting events, and have access to strong work opportunities post-graduation. Many MTSU students secure internships or live in Nashville while working towards their degree.

Students at MTSU get the experience of a college-town lifestyle while being close to a major city.

#2 Student Organizations and Involvement

MTSU has over 250 student organizations. These organizations include things like Greek life, leadership, culture involvement, service groups, leadership opportunities and much more.

And if there’s an organization you think is missing, you can create one! To create a new student organization, you just need five students and one faculty advisor.

Campus life is very important to everyone at MTSU. Administration, faculty, staff and students work tirelessly to plan events and provide resources to help students feel at home on campus.

MTSU remains one of the most affordable university options in the state of Tennessee.

Almost half of MTSU students graduate without any college debt. Eighty percent of students receive some form of financial aid.

With the help of programs like the Tennessee Hope Lottery and other scholarships, MTSU is very affordable for many students compared to other universities.

MTSU also has over 80 fully online programs providing access to nontraditional students that need flexibility while getting a quality education.
