MTSU has hired Dr. Jeff Hoyt as the assistant vice provost for institutional effectiveness, planning and research.
Hoyt previously worked at Brigham Young University in Utah, where he served as the assistant to the dean for assessment within the Division of Continuing Education. He has also been affiliated with Longwood University in Virginia, Utah Valley State College and the University of Utah, where he served as director of institutional research and assessment.
Hoyt, who received his doctoral degree from the University of Utah in 2000, began his appointment at MTSU on Jan. 7.
In his new role, Hoyt will be responsible for, among other things, providing overall direction for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Planning and Research, along with hands-on data analysis, interpreting analysis and preparing of reports for internal and external use to aid strategic planning and policy-making decisions.
“I look forward to supporting the campus in their retention efforts and other information needs,” he said.
Hoyt lives in Murfreesboro with his wife and two children.
