MTSU is welcoming about 180 new undergraduate international students for the fall 2013 semester.
The Office of International Affairs hosted its annual New International Student orientation on Aug. 21 in the State Farm Lecture Hall of the Business and Aerospace Building. A Welcome Picnic was held Aug. 22 at Pavilion One in Old Fort Parkway Park.
“We are friendly people, and I try to embody that,” said Dr. David Schmidt, vice provost for international affairs. “Hopefully, that will translate to positive word of mouth when students go back home.”
The picnic is only part of a complete weeklong schedule that includes placement tests, health service center visits and shopping trips.
