MTSU hosts Rutherford County College Night Sept. 17

MTSU will serve as host to the annual Rutherford County College Night, an event where high school students can meet and talk to representatives from dozens of other colleges and universities to discover what their schools have to offer.

The new 2014-15 MTSU Scholarship Guide lists potential awards for freshmen, transfer and returning students as well as helpful college preparation tips and checklists.

The 2013-14 MTSU Visitor’s Guide will be among the brochures available at both the Rutherford County College Night, the statewide True Blue Tour, Preview Days and True Blue Experiences Days.

The event, which is free, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Student Union Ballroom.

Along with MTSU personnel, all of the visiting colleges’ representatives will be recruiting students for the 2014-15 academic year and beyond.

High school students and their parents or guardians from Rutherford and surrounding counties are invited to attend.

The MTSU Office of Admissions organizes the event. Financial aid staff and personnel from other offices and colleges within the university also will be available to assist prospective students and their families.

The new MTSU 2013-14 Visitor’s Guide and 2014-15 Scholarship Guide will be available at the university’s table.

Parking for the event will be in the lot adjacent to the MTSU Greenhouse on the northeast side of campus. Guests can reach the parking lot more easily by entering campus from Greenland Drive at Blue Raider Drive and turning onto Lightning Way.
