About “Clue: On Stage”

Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep the audience guessing until the final twist.
Written by Sandy Rustin, the play is directed by MTSU Department of Theatre and Dance marketing content coordinator Aaron Catron and is based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn.
It’s a dark and stormy night, and the cast of oddball characters has been invited to an unusual dinner party. Each guest has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is dead! So, whodunit?
Join the iconic characters known as Scarlet, Plum, White, Green, Peacock and Mustard as they race to find the murderer in the Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up.
“The students have made the characters their own,” Catron said. “Each one of them feels alive.”
Student cast
The 10-student cast began prepping for this production last November.
“I wanted to provide an experience where ‘truth and play’ took precedence over ‘right and wrong,’” Catron said.
He continued, “We honored the legacy of the original work, but each day I welcomed the cast to make choices that were uniquely their own. The most compelling performances emerge from this kind of honesty, and seeing the students collaborate, refine their instincts, and lose their fear of ‘getting it wrong’ was exactly the outcome I had envisioned for this production.”
The cast includes:
- Jester Bowen, a computer science major, as Wadsworth
- Morgan Connor as Mrs. Peacock
- Anna Cox, a theatre major, as Mrs. White
- Emma Dolberry, a theatre major, as Miss Scarlet
- Greg Johnson, a theatre major, as Colonel Mustard
- Reece Kruse as Mr. Green
- Emma Lilly, a theatre major, as Yvette
- Shon Siever as Professor Plum
- Kadin Bolton, a business administration major, as Ensemble Man
- Claire Lee, an elementary education major, as Ensemble Woman
