MTSU Out of the Blue: April 2019

The April edition of the “Out of the Blue” television magazine show from Middle Tennessee State University, available to watch above, features conversations about MTSU’s newly launched degree in tourism and hospitality management, a professor’s research into aging and its effects on financial decision-making, and another professor’s insights into millennials’ vastly different attitudes toward work compared to previous generations.

• Dr. Nicky Wu, an assistant professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance, explores the recently launched Tourism and Hospitality Management Program and how it will train new generations of professionals in a burgeoning industry.

• Dr. Keith Gamble, chair of the Department of Economics and Finance in the Jones College of Business, discusses his research findings on aging and its effects on financial decision-making.

• Dr. Dan Morrell, director of the MTSU Management Graduate Program in the Jones College of Business, examines studies showing how millennials’ attitudes toward their work and careers differ from prior generations.

Along with viewing online anytime, you can watch “Out of the Blue,” with host Andrew Oppmann, on Murfreesboro cable Channel 9 daily at 7 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and on NewsChannel5+ at 3:30 p.m. Sundays. “Out of the Blue” also is available as iTunes and Google Play podcasts and on other cable outlets in Middle Tennessee, so check local listings.
