Painting Patterson Park

MTSU Art Education students collaborated with fourth and fifth grade students from Bradley Academy to design, craft and paint a full classroom mural depicting four major themes: Life Skills, Sports, Arts, and Community.

The MTSU Art Education program participates in community art projects such as the Patterson Park mural on a regular basis to help teach the K-12 certified college students how to teach art to elementary, middle and high school students.

This mural utilized the ideas and life-size kid figures of fourth and fifth grade students from Bradley Academy to create mosaic designs.

MTSU Seniors Cody Langford and Kylie Padgett share their experience that will become part of their portfolio, which begins with hands-on art projects from their very first Introduction to Art Education class. Getting these skills puts MTSU Art Education students in great demand when they graduate.
