Peace Corps logoAccording to www.peacecorps.org, the Peace Corps is a U.S. international service organization that sends Americans abroad “to tackle the most pressing needs of people around the world,” with Peace Corps volunteers not only working at the grassroots level in international communities but also returning home a broader perspective of the world around them.

The Peace Corps’ mission includes helping people of interested countries meet their need for trained men and women and promoting a better understanding between Americans and people they serve in other countries.
