On Sept. 16, James McCarroll, pastor of First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, announced a new “True Blue Community Initiative” being formed with residents from all walks of life to support the Blue Raiders in its academic and athletic endeavors.
McCarroll’s volunteer group announced several ideas and initiatives to grow ‘True Blue Spirit’ in communities across Middle Tennessee, including a push to make Oct. 4, the Friday of Homecoming weekend, “True Blue Friday.”
On that day, community members will be asked to wear blue in support of MTSU.
The 2013 MTSU Homecoming is Saturday, Oct. 5, with activities planned throughout the week.
