MURFREESBORO, Tenn. ­— The Middle Tennessee State University Police Department will conduct a multi-agency emergency response training exercise Monday, Aug. 10, requiring temporary closures around the MTSU Recreation Center area.

The exercise will bring together multiple first-responder agencies, including local law enforcement, fire departments and emergency medical services, to train on coordinated emergency-response procedures in a controlled environment.

Due to the exercise, the following areas will be closed all day Monday, Aug. 10, to students, faculty, staff and the general public:

•  MTSU Recreation Center

•  True Blue Parking Garage

•  Recreation Center parking lot

•  Softball parking lot

•  Surrounding areas near the training site

The closed areas will be marked with police tape and signage. Members of the campus community should avoid the area and should not enter any secured locations.

A large presence of first responders and emergency vehicles is expected in the area during the exercise.

The training is part of ongoing efforts by the MTSU Police Department and its community partners to enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
