MTSU American Sign Language Club: Students give the deaf a ‘hand’ (VIDEO)

The American Sign Language Club at MTSU has been in existence since 2011. Blake-Lyn Giles of Springville, Tennessee, said she formed the student organization because there weren’t many places around Murfreesboro that taught ASL. Giles lost her hearing as the result of an ear infection when she was a small child. With Giles graduating this year, the future of the club is in jeopardy. If you are interested in joining or leading the club, please contact MTSU’s Office of Student Organizations and Service at 615-898-5812. A video of the club in action at a Nov. 24 meeting is available for viewing below.
