Consoling the Campus Community from “MTSU On the Record” (+VIDEO)

The next “MTSU On the Record” radio program examines the ways a college community can deal with the death of one of its own. Host Gina Logue’s interview with Dr. Kris McCusker, history professor and co-founder of the MTSU Working Group on Bereavement, will air from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, June 30, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and www.wmot.org). The group of various MTSU personnel created a brochure with information about how to cope with grieving the loss of a student, faculty member or staffer. You can read the brochure online at http://tinyurl.com/MTBereavementInfo. In addition, the group assembled a “coaching staff” for faculty, who can then provide support for their students. To listen to the entire broadcast, go to www.mtsunews.com, scroll down to “Audio Clips,” and click “Listen” beginning the day after the Sunday broadcast. For more information about “MTSU On the Record,” contact Logue at 615-898-5081 or WMOT-FM at 615-898-2800.
