Registration is open for MTSU’s 2022 Leadership Summit: Innovative Leadership, hosted again by the Jennings A. Jones College of Business and featuring two thought leaders who’ll share strategies on both individual and collective professional development.
Not held since 2019 because of the pandemic, the summit returns this year with a schedule of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, Embassy Suites, Mirabella Ballroom, 1200 Conference Center Blvd. in Murfreesboro.
Cost of registration is $50 for the public (includes an 11 a.m. lunch) and is free to MTSU faculty, staff, and students. Please register by Oct. 24 at https://www.mtsu.edu/business/LeadershipSummit.php.
“The Leadership Summit is a fantastic opportunity for students, staff, and the community alike. Each year we bring in nationally recognized experts and thought leaders to share their expertise,” said David Urban, dean of the Jones College of Business. “Learning to lead can take you to the next step in your career, but also will have ripple effects in your personal life for a long time to come.”
This year’s keynote speaker is Ryan Jenkins, a Wall Street Journal bestselling author, an internationally recognized keynote speaker and virtual trainer. His latest book is “Connectable: How Leaders Can Move Teams from Isolated to All In.”
For a decade, he has helped organizations optimize generational dynamics, lessen worker loneliness, and prepare for the future of work. Jenkins’ insights have been featured in Forbes, Fast Company and CNBC. He is also co-founder of LessLonely.com, a top resource for reducing worker isolation and strengthening team connections.
Also presenting at the event is guest speaker Libby Gill, an executive leadership coach and consultant who will share “the science-based concepts of ‘hope theory’ to provide the future-focused vision and positive engagement individuals and organizations need to compete in today’s continuously changing world.”
Author of six books, including the award-winning “You Unstuck,” Gill guides others to: reframe change as an opportunity for massive growth, re-energize top talent to reach their full potential, and re-inspire company culture with a hope-driven vision of the future.
Summit sponsors include Jennings A. Jones Chair of Excellence in Free Enterprise, Murfreesboro Young Professionals, Dale Carnegie of Tennessee and Georgia, UBS, Ascend Federal Credit Union, LBMC and First Horizon.
