Middle Tennessee State University calls it CUSTOMS — MTSU’s summer orientation program for new students, freshmen and transfers.

CUSTOMS shows freshmen the ropes of being an MTSU student. It helps new undergraduate students make the transition into the university, prepares them for educational opportunities and propels them into the intellectual, cultural and social climate of the university.

CUSTOMS sessions gain momentum after Memorial Day. The second of the 11 two-day orientation sessions for freshmen will be held Thursday and Friday, May 29-30.

These sessions will be for students who plan to major in programs in the College of Basic and Applied Sciences or the College of Behavioral and Health Sciences.

CUSTOMS orientation sessions for transfer students at MTSU will be held Friday, June 6; Tuesday, June 17; Friday, July 25; Wednesday, Aug. 6; and Tuesday, Aug. 12.

Find full details, including dates for all sessions, online at www.mtsu.edu/customs. Students preregister on a first-come, first-served basis.

New students are required to attend all CUSTOMS activities. They can register for classes at the end of the session.

For more information, visit the CUSTOMS website or call 615-898-5533. CUSTOMS is part of the Office of New Student and Family Programs, which is located in Keathley University Center Room 326.
