The second annual Literacy Research Conference 2014, sponsored by the Literacy Studies Ph.D. Program at MTSU, takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in the College of Education building at Middle Tennessee State University.
Faculty and graduate students in the area have been invited to submit abstracts as the conference committee was seeking high quality research concerning literacy. This year, Dr. David Dickinson, professor in the Teaching and Learning Department at Vanderbilt University, will present the keynote address.
Dickinson is a distinguished scholar who studies young children’s language and concept development. To view some of his work in designing a preschool curriculum focused on language development, please see http://vimeo.com/63609578. More information about Dickinson can be found at http://peabody.vanderbilt.edu/bio/david-dickinson.
Literacy Studies encourages participants to learn more about literacy research, refine their research and share their work in a supportive scholarly setting.
