MTSU Out of the Blue: December 2018

The December 2018 edition of the “Out of the Blue” television magazine show from Middle Tennessee State University, available to watch above, features conversations on keeping students intrigued with history and helping to create more physicians for rural areas, plus a holiday visit with the award-winning, CD-recording MTSU Wind Ensemble. Join us to hear:

• Dr. Ben Sawyer, a professor in MTSU’s Department of History who uses his delivery style honed as a stand-up comedian to connect with his students and his “Road to Now” podcast audiences and draw them into his love of history.

Eric Miller, advising manager for MTSU’s College of Basic and Applied Sciences, who explains the new Medical School Early Acceptance Program partnership with Meharry Medical College that’s focusing on pointing physicians toward underserved areas in rural Tennessee.

• Dr. Reed Thomas, director of bands and music-conducting professor in MTSU’s School of Music, who leads the award-winning MTSU Wind Ensemble in a holiday tune to prepare for the “Joys of the Season.”
